Clueless Pelosi on Meet the Press

Nancy Pelosi was on Meet the Press yesterday and it was a pitiful performance.

All she did was spin and run away like a scared little bunny on issue after issue. Another words, she acted like a typical Democrat.

When she brought up CIA Director Porter Goss's alleged "poker games," Russert asked if she had any "evidence." Of course not. She was just doing what politicians always do. So she had to backpedal and wound up looking foolish.

Since Democrats have to bend over backwards to show that they'd "protect the country," she not only practically apologized for Bush's warrantless wiretapping, she said Democrats would continue the FISA program as if that's what this is all about, which it's not (when Democrats think they have to look and act "tough," they only wind up looking foolish).

She said she supports Rep. Jack Murtha's call for redeployment, but when confronted by her own words in 2004 about not retreating in Iraq, she was like a deer in the headlights.

Why wasn't she prepared for this?

She should have said: "Tim, Iraq's a disaster. It hasn't gotten any better since then and I'll be dammed if I'm going to continue supporting the non-policy of 'staying the course' just so President Bush can save face. There's nothing wrong with changing ones mind or 'flip flopping,' if that's what you want to call it, when it comes to the lives and limbs of our brave troops."

Is that so difficult?

Then when Russert said she was for "cutting and running," Pelosi "cut and ran" with more spin.

With smoke coming out of her ears, she should have said: "Tim, if you and the Republicans want to call it 'cut and run,' fine. I couldn't care less because I rather cut and run and get our troops out of an impossible situation, then continue with a failed policy in the middle of a colossal disaster with no end in sight. Besides, there's no dishonor in 'cutting and running' when you're suffering senseless casualties in a war that can not be won. And if I get blasted by Republicans for that last part, so be it. It's reality."

It would have been a great response. Unfortunately, we're talking about a Democrat here.

Instead of Democrats falling all over themselves as if they have all the easy answers to Iraq, why not admit the obvious? There are no easy answers - we can't leave and we can't stay!

When asked about a complicated issue like Iraq, don't you think the country would find it refreshing for a politician to admit it, and perhaps even go so far and say "I don't know what to do?" Hell, it's better then spinning because that only makes politicians look foolish!

So why can't Democrats simply say "Bush has messed this up so much, there's no easy way out of this. We've got to get out of there, no question. But we can't leave either."

Is that so difficult?

Pelosi wasn't done with her monumental stupidity. She said that Democrats would be for "no deficit spending" which made her look like a typical politician.

Yea, that's exactly what the country's looking for, Nancy.

Her knee-jerk support for the ethanol industry made her look like a typical pandering politician, and she looked ridiculous when she tried to spin her way out of Democrat corruption and their own involvement with lobbyists. And to cap it off, when Russert brought up John Conyers and his web site, she ran so far away from impeaching Bush, it was a disgrace to watch (I'd hate to think of what Bush would have to do for Democrats to support impeachment!).

You know, we're the dopes, the Democrat base. Because here we are outraged, pointing out every day what Bush has done - failing to prevent the 9/11 attacks, deliberately misleading the country into an unnecessary war in Iraq, having it become a colossal disaster, failing to protect our ports, chemical facilities and nuclear power plants, wiretapping Americans without a warrant, turning a surplus into a deficit, ignoring New Orleans etc. - meanwhile, Congressional Democrats go out of their way to say they won't impeach Bush (Pelosi did say Democrats would "have hearings" if they gained control of the House. Gee, I can see Karl Rove shaking in his boots right now.).

That makes us look like fools because it gives the Republican base ammunition: "Hey, your own leadership opposes impeachment!"

Pelosi's a freakin' boob. Most Democrats are. They've shown that even when they have the facts and logic on their side, they couldn't argue themselves out of a paper bag.

And we wonder why this party is in the shape it's in.

Is there one Democrat out there with half a brain?
