A Stubborn, Immature, Vindictive President*
When I heard that Bush blasted Democrats and the anti-war movement in a speech last week, it made me angry.
What he said was bad enough. But what's infuriating is that he made those inflammatory remarks strictly for vindictive political reasons. So I made sure to avoid all the news reports about it because reading or hearing what he had to say would have made me angrier.Congratulations Mr. President, you're so repulsive, I can't even look at you anymore. I'm sure you're proud.
Earlier this year I posted Bush's Brainwashed Base*

Congratulations Mr. President, you're so repulsive, I can't even look at you anymore. I'm sure you're proud.
Earlier this year I posted Bush's Brainwashed Base* where I said Bush and Rove's only priority is to keep the GOP base riled up in order to keep his poll numbers up. So with his poll numbers falling, and support for the war in Iraq crumbling, it was only a matter of time before Bush took the offensive against Democrats and opponents of the war (this wasn't the first time I was proven right).
Not only would it rile up his base, but it would give them just what they live for: the opportunity to scream GOP talking points at those evil, anti-war "liberals" who "hate America" (October, 2008 insert: here), "hate our troops" and "love terrorists." And Bush was only too happy to oblige; at a Veterans Day event no less.
How sick. How sad. How immature. What a disgrace.
Is this how a President of the United States should be behaving (that sound you hear is George Washington spinning in his grave...again)? Using a war (that sound you hear is Abe Lincoln and FDR spinning in their graves...again) for petty political purposes (that sound you hear is Harry Truman spinning in his grave...again)?
Of course, what gets lost in this "debate" are the facts and logic. Sure the Democrats thought Iraq had WMDs. But they got their information from Bush!Silly Democrats. They thought they could believe the "intelligence" that he provided because - as Rush Limbaugh said every day during Clinton's eight years - "words mean things!"
And I don't want to hear how everyone assumed that Iraq had WMDs and the "intelligence" was just plain "wrong." Because if I was President and started an unnessary war that turned into colossal disaster based on information that couldn't have been more wrong, I'd be furious!
So where's Bush's anger? Why didn't he fire anyone? Why did he give George Tenet a medal? Why has he been spinning himself into knots the last two years trying to justify the war? And why has he bent over backwards trying to avoid legitimate investigations that would tell us why he was given information that couldn't have been more wrong (But the intelligence was correct. It's what the White House did to it once they got his hands on it!)?(I could ask the same questions regarding the "sloppy" intelligence that failed to prevent the 9/11 attacks. Anyone see a pattern here?)
Obviously, Bush is trying to spin responsibility for this disaster on to the Democrats as if the war was their idea; and at the same time watch his base go at it with "liberals" so he can get his sorry ass poll number's back above 40.
How pathetic. He sounds like a whining 2nd grader giving the teacher "the dog ate my homework" excuse, then punching out his classmate for not doing his homework for him.
But we shouldn't be surprised at such stubborn, immature and vindicative behavior coming from Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and Rove. Because when they entered the White House five years ago, they brought along the nasty, arrogant, childish conservative "talk radio" type attitude, rhetoric and wisecracks since that was the constituency they needed, knew they could control, and would keep them in power.
So as long as they got their base by the nose, they have to yank that chain every once in a while to get them to sit, stay, roll over and shout at "liberals" on command.
You know, instead of taking "ethics" class's, perhaps the White House - and their moronic brainwashed base - would be better off going back to kindergarten so they can learn how to "play well with others" all over again since they obviously didn't learn it the first time.
But that might be a problem. Because with such a spiteful and belligerent attitude that's always looking for a fight, they'd only wind up intimidating their classmates, their teacher and principal. So if they don't have the temperament or the intellect to complete a complicated assignment such as finger painting, how can they possibly handle a structured environment like kindergarten?
This is what we're dealing with. I said it was getting scary.
