More Bush Spin and Damage Control

Is it because they'd have to "swear to tell the truth" in front of the committee, while on TV and radio they can continue to con their mindless and gullible Republican constituency by spinning and repeating their "talking points" over and over again?
Why HASN'T the Bush White House been running to the 9/11 committee? You think they would be if they had nothing to hide and had something to offer so we wouldn't be attacked like that ever again. But since the committee was formed - which Bush incredulously opposed - they've been treating it like it was the plague!
They have refused to hand over all the requested documents to the committee and have placed strict limitations on the few they did release.
Also, Bush placed a time limit and imposed restrictions on his possible appearance before the committee, as well as members of his administration.
And yet, administration members have the time to pop up on TV all day long!
The more the White House appears on TV and radio blasting Clarke, and the more they avoid the 9/11 committee, proves how wrong Bush is. I guess damage control, spin and avoiding responsibility is more important then 3,000 American lives and keeping the country safe.
If the White House spent half as much time trying to figure out what went wrong with the nations intelligence prior to 9/11 (as well as the colossal intelligence failures regarding Iraq's WMDs, assuming of course Bush didn't know it was all bogus) as they do slandering, spinning and obfuscating, maybe our country - heck, the entire world! - would be a lot better off!
